Edge: Plain. Silver medal stamped: CM 925 STG".

Obverse: Bareheaded busts of Joubert (left) and Prinsloo (right) both with beards. Joubert turned slightly to the right, Prinsloo front. In an arc under the busts: “GENL.F.JOUBERT KMDT.S.PRINSLOO”. Legend above: “TER HERDENKING”, and below: “1886–1986”.

Reverse: Simple church with spire, fence in front, clouds above. Signed: “TW” below the fence. Legend: “WITFONTEIN – ARK VAN DIE NED. HERV. KERK”. Small cross at the foot.

Notes: The silver medal comes inside a case covered in blue velvet and lined inside with blue velvet and white material. On the inside of the lid in gilded letters: "SUID AFRIKAANSE / HISTORIESE MUNT". There is also a certificate stating a mintage of 1,000 in sterling silver.

The bronze medal comes inside a square blue cardboard box. On the outside of the lid in gilded letters: "SUID AFRIKAANSE / HISTORIESE MUNT".

From 1860 there were three different church groupings of Afrikaner Calvinism in the Transvaal. One of these was the Nederduitsch Hervormde Kerk whose church was on the the farm Witfontein near Bronkhorstspruit. This medal commemorate a meeting of the congregation on 13 February 1886 at which the members decided to retain their independence and not to unite with the other churches.
