Legend above: “LANDSWYE KWARTEEUFEES VOORTREKKER-MONUMENT” (country-wide quarter-century celebration of the Voortrekker Monument), and below: “1974”.

Issued as a set of three only in a fitted maroon oblong case, embossed in gold on the outside of the lid with the emblem of the silver jubilee and below: "Kwarteeufees Van Die / Voortrekkermonument / 16 Desember 1974”. Lined on the inside with white silk marked: "SAM" and red velvet.
It is recorded (AM2) that Mr. S.G.L. van Niekerk, the Transvaal Administrator, struck the first medal and that there were 100 sets minted.
