Reverse: Crossed flag standards, New Zealand (left) British Union (right). Legend within two concentric beaded borders, above: "SUCCESS TO 3RD. CONTINGENT" and below between stops: "1900".

Notes: Third NZ Contingent was recruited from the Canterbury region in the South Island. The contingent of 262 men left Lyttelton on 19 February 1900.
