Notes: The Durban to Johannesburg Commemorative Rally is an annually held trial for vintage motor cycles made on or before 31 December 1936. The trial, known as "The DJ Run", was established in 1970. It commemorates the early races between Durban and Johannesburg held annually between 1913 end 1936 (except for the years during the First World War). Those were days before motorways and indeed for stretches there were no proper roads at all. The race took three days. Prize medals were presented - Laidlaw: 1127.

The DJ Run is organised by the Vintage and Veteran Club (V.V.C.) and the Rand Motorcycling Club (R.M.C.)
