Obverse: Surrounded by a blue enamel sea, map of Africa with participating countries in red enamel. Legend on a band against red enamel above: " CENTRAL AFRICAN RHODES CENTENARY EXHIBITION" and below between stops: "1953".

Reverse: Blank. Stamped: "SILVER" at the foot. Brooch pin attachment.

Notes: The Central Africa Rhodes Centenary Exhibition was held in Bulawayo, Southern Rhodesia, between 30 May 30 and 29 August, 1953. The exhibition was named in commemoration of the hundredth anniversary of the birth of Cecil Rhodes, the founder of the country. It was officially opened by Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, on July 3rd. The grounds covered 50 acres and all eighteen of those countries south of the Sudan had their own exhibition pavilion.
