Notes: Comes inside a blue square fitted case from the S.A. Mint. In gold lettering on the outside of the lid: THE TRANSVAAL NUMISMATIC SOCIETY / DIE TRANSVAALSE NUMISMATIESE VERENIGING / 4 National Convention / Nasionale Konvensie / 1970”. This medal also comes with a presentation ticket to Pastor J.F. Rowland.

Pastor J.F. Rowlands was a renowned Natal numismatist and founding president of the Natal Numismatic Society. At one time he was reputed to have the most extensive collection of British Crowns in existence together with the signatures of each monarch. Outside numismatics he is better known for his evangelical work among the Indian community in Durban.
