Obverse: Bareheaded bust of Kruger in jacket, left (similar to Z.A.R coinage). Bust within circular frame of woody stems. Outside sprigs top and bottom of of oak (right) and laurel (left). On a rectangular [plaque below, across: "S: J: PAUL KRÜGER: / PRAES: DER BURENREPUBLIK".

Reverse: Blank. Sometimes inscribed.

Notes: It is believed that this medal, although unsigned, was made by Lauer in advance of Kruger's visit to Cologne.
