Edge: Plain.

Obverse: British Royal coat of arms with motto: “DIEU ET MON DROIT” on an ornate ribbon. Below on a cartouche, emblem of Natal Colony, a pair of wildebeests galloping to the right, mountains behind. Signed: "ALLAN WYON" on truncation.

Reverse: Within a laurel wreath tied at the bottom with a ribbon, in the middle a small circle of dots enclosing: "1892". Around above: "DURBAN" and below between floral stops: "NATAL". Signed: "A. WYON" below. Legend above: "FINE . ART . EXHIBITION" and below between floral stops: HONORIS . CAUSA".

Notes: The exhibition coincided with the establishment of the Durban Art Gallery, located in the City Hall, in 1892.
