Issued inside a fitted black cardboard box. On the outside of the lid in gilt: "(coat of arms of SA Historical Mint) / SOUTH AFRICAN / HISTORICAL MINT". Comes with a numbered certificate stating a mintage of 10,000. This medal, certificate number 50. Also comes with a letter from The Heritage Collection giving a contradictory mintage of 1,000.
Elizabeth Angela Marguerite Bowes-Lyon (1900 – 2002) was the wife of King George VI and the mother of Queen Elizabeth II. She visited South Africa on a Royal tour in 1947. She died aged 101.
