Notes: Stellenbosch is in the Western Cape province of South Africa and situated about 50 kilometres east of Cape Town. It was founded in 1679 by Simon van der Stel, the first governor of the Dutch VOC settlement in the Cape.

The festival to celebrate the 300th anniversary of Stellenbosch took place from 10th to 14th October 1979.
