Edge: Plain.

Obverse: St Andrew with cross of his name behind. In an arc above: "SCOTTISH MÒD" and below: "1907". On a raised band above: "CALEDONIAN SOCIETY" and below between stars: "OF PIETERMARITZBURG".

Reverse: A thistle wreath with: "WON BY" in an arc at the top. Engraved with ornaments within: "JESSIE WATT / 1ST. PRES. CH. CHOIR (Presbyterian Church Choir) / 1ST. PRIZE".

Notes: The Caledonian Society of Pietermaritzburg was formed in 1907. The society has since disbanded but from the Society grew the Pietermaritzburg Pipe Band which was established in 1918 and remains active today.

The elephant and the stars of the Southern Cross on the suspension bar are taken from the coat of arms of Pietermaritzburg.
