Edge: Plain

Obverse: The old-head bust of Queen Victoria, left. The legend above: “TO COMMEMORATE THE 60 YEARS REIGN OF H.M.G.M. QUEEN VICTORIA” and below between stops: “1837 - 1897”

Reverse: Within a wreath of the national flows of Great Britain, across: “VICTORIA. E.I. / BORN 24 MAY 19 / ASCENDED JUNE 37 / CROWNED 28 JUNE 38 / MARRIED 10 FEB 40 / JUBILEE 1887 / SEXAGENARY (in an arc) / 1897 (in an arc)”. At the top of the wreath is the Star of India and, at the bottom, the coat of arms of Great Britain. Entwined round the wreath is a ribbon with the names of Empire territories: from the top clockwise: “INDIA”, “CAPE”, “CANADA”, “GREAT BRITAIN”, “N. ZEALAND”, “AUSTRALIA”.
