The smaller medal (BHM 4353, similar) has an attached loop and red-white-blue ribbon. The date is missing on the obverse, and the plaque on the reverse reads: "A.D. 1937".
The reverse design was initially used on the coronation medal for King Edward VIII (BHM 4298). It was also used on another coronation medal for King George VI (Laidlaw 1290).
