Notes: Wodehouse is a farm in the Eastern Cape, close to the Lesotho border. It was owned by the Moorcroft family. It would seem likely that the agricultural show was actually held in Dordrecht, some 60 km to the south.

Dr Edward Roger Rowland opened his practice in Dordrecht in 1878. It was one of the largest practices in South Africa at the time. Rowland was also mayor of Dordrecht for nine years and chairman of the school board.
