Obverse: Coat of Arms of King Edward VII School with motto: "STRENUE".

Reverse: In an arc at the top: "KING EDWARD VII / SCHOOL". Within a laurel wreath across: "SUA / PRAEMIA / LAUDI".

Notes: The School was established in 1902 as the "Johannesburg High School for Boys". In 1911 the school moved to its current location on the Houghton Ridge, Johannesburg. This was shortly after the founding of the Union of South Africa and the death of King Edward VII. To honour his memory, the school was granted the right to change its name to King Edward VII School.
