Edge: Plain.

Obverse: Beed border around the rim. Bust of Kruger, left, similar to ZAR coinage. Legend above: "PRÄSIDENT KRÜGER" and below between stars: " TRANSVAAL"

Reverse: Beed border around the rim. Between ornate lines above and below, across: "EENDRACHT / MAAKT MACHT (sic)".

Notes: Hern list another medal together with this one with the same reference number. The other's obverse is that same as this one but the reverse inscription reads: "DEUTSCHLAND BLEIBT ZWAR NEUTRAL DAS VOLK FUHLT MIT TRANSVAAL". This translates to: "Although Germany remains neutral, the people feel for the Transvaal". Both medals date from the time that Kruger was in Cologne where he learned that the German Kaiser was no longer willing to support the Boer side in the war.

A reasonable assumption is the the medal here was issued in anticipation of Kruger's successful visit to Germany. The reverse was hastily remade when it because apparent that financial assistance would not be forthcoming.
