Within a wreath with a Protea flower at its base: “THIRD / S.A. NUMISMATIC / CONVENTION / DURBAN”. Signed below the wreath on either side of the Protea’s stem: “W M”. Legend above: “DERDE S.A. NUMISMATIESE KONVENSIE” and below between stops: “11-15 JUL. 1967”. The gold medal is stamped: "18CT" at the foot. The silver medal is stamped: “.925 SILVER” on either side of the Protea.

Gold medal comes in a blue fitted case lined with white silk and blue velvet. The other two come in a silver-coloured cardboard box.
