Ribbons on the wreath: "1837 (left) 1897 (right). At the top, the British Royal arms. Maker's name at the foot: "CRUN BRO’S”.

This is the only medal that displays both the British Royal arms and the arms of the Z.A. Republic. Two years after Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee the countries were at war with each other.
