Obverse: Bareheaded bust of Kruger, left, similar to Z.A.R. coinage. Legend in large letters on left: “KRÜGER”.

Reverse: Across: “AUX BOERS (in an arc) / AUX HEROÏQUES / DEFENSEURS / DE LA / LIBERTÉ / AU TRANSVAAL / 1900 (in an arc)”. Maker’s mark round the rim: “CARTAUX (left) DEPOSÉ (right - French for registered)”.

Notes: This, and other similar medals by Cartaux, were on sale in Paris during the visit of President Kruger to that city in November 1900.
