Edge: Plain. 4.2 mm thick.

Obverse: On the left, within an ornate oval border, diademed head of the young Queen, right. On the right, within an ornate oval border, the veiled and crowned jubilee head of the Queen, left. The ovals joined by a band: “1837 / 1887”. Crown above with roses, shamrocks and thistles. Radiant Bible with crossed sceptre and frond below.

Reverse: Across: “1837-1887 (in an arc) / VICTORIA / QUEEN AND EMPRESS / BORN 1819 / CROWNED 1839 / MARRIED 1840 (in an arc)”. At the top, the Royal coat of arms and at the bottom the Star of India. On the left and right, shields of colonies each named on an entwined ribbon: “AUSTRALIA (left, top), N. ZEALAND (left bottom), CAPE COLONY (right, top), CANADA (right, bottom)”.
