Obverse: View of gold mine with headworks, tall chimney and other building with mine dump in the background. Legend below: "MODDER EAST"

Reverse: Within a laurel wreath tied at the bottom: "PEACE / 1914 - 1919 / VREDE".

Notes: Modder East is a gold mine within the Springs municipality in the East Rand. Revitalised in 2009 it is now Gold One’s flagship operation in South Africa.
