Obverse: Queen Victoria, veiled, crowned and laureate, left. Monogram: “FB” on truncation. Laurel branch below. On the right across: “1900” Legend on left: “VICTORIA.R.I.”.

Reverse: On the left, a wide half-wreath of shamrock superimposed with a crowned Irish harp. On the right across: “TO / COMMEM- / ORATE THE / VISIT OF HER / MOST GRACIOUS / MAJESTY / TO IRELAND / (in smaller letters) IN THE / SIXTY-THIRD / YEAR OF HER / REIGN”. Signed,lower left around the rim: “SPINK & SON”.

Notes: Queen Victoria visited the city of Dublin in Ireland during the month of April 1900. There she paid tribute the the valour of Irishmen who were fighting in the Boer War. She was then 80 years old and died the following year.

The silver medal comes inside a red leather case with blue velvet and white silk lining.On the inside of the lid in gold letters: "ELKINGTON & Co. LTD. / MEDALISTS/ 22 REGENT STREET, / S.W.". Royal coat of arms above and above that: "BY SPECIAL APPOINTMENT (in an arc)".

The bronze medal comes inside a red leather case with blue silk and velvet lining. On the outside of the lid in gold letters: “PRESENTED / BY / EARL CADOGAN K.G. / LORD LIEUTENANT OF IRELAND /1900” and on the inside: “UNDER THE PATRONAGE OF H.M.G.M. THE QUEEN (in an arc with a crown above) / SPINK & SON, 17 & 18, PICCADILLY W. / & 1 & 2, GRACECHURCH ST. E.C. / LONDON.”.
