Obverse: Coat of arms of Kings Lynn, shield showing three dragons’ heads each disgorging a cross, pelican crest. In an arc below: “GEORGE BRISTOW MAYOR”. Legend, on a raised band, above: “A SOUVENIR OF SOUTH AFRICAN WAR 1899-1900” and below between stops: “KINGS LYNN”.

Reverse: In the middle, a horizontal scroll: “S.AFRICA”. Above this, the Royal coat-of-arms, and below, and to each side, three cameos, each of a uniformed British general within an oval border. Below, bareheaded bust of Lord Roberts, front, with legend: “LORD ROBERTS V.C.”. To the left, bust of Baden-Powell with hat, front, with legend: “GEN. BADEN-POWELL”. To the right, bareheaded bust of French, turned slightly left, with legend: “GENERAL FRENCH”. The three cameos linked together by a ribbon below: “1899” to the left of Roberts, and: “1900” to the right.
