Edge: Plain. The silver medal stamped with the Sterling silver marks, "(Lion's Head) STG z[for 19733] S.A.M." and the issue number. This medal: "111". Bronze medal stamped, "S.A.M." but unnumbered.

Obverse: Coat of arms of the Simon van der Stel foundation with motto below on a ribbon: “AMOENA SERVATE NOSTRA”. Legend: “STIGTING SIMON VAR DER STEL FOUNDATION”. At the foot,two sprigs of oak signed: “J. BUISSET / 69” below.

Reverse: Farmhouse on Paul Kruger’s farm 'Boekenhoutfontein' near Rustenburg. Signed: “A.L.S.” below the truncation on the left. Legend above: “BOEKENHOUTFONTEIN” and below: “1973”.

Notes: The silver medal issued in a blue case lined with white silk: "SAM" and blue velvet. The bronze medal issued in a similar red case.

It is recorded in AM2 that 200 numbered medals were struck in silver.

The medal commemorates the opening of Kruger's Farmhouse as a museum in 1973.
