Edge: Plain.

Obverse: Bust of the elderly Paul Kruger in jacket, left. Below to the right, on two staggered lines: “1825 / - 1904”. Legend: “STEPHANUS JOHANNES PAULUS KRUGER”.

Reverse: Z.A.R coat of arms on a shield surrounded by a design of rays (resembling a Glengarry badge) against a background of Southern Africa, waves below and rays above. To the left and right are two smaller shields each displaying the Lion of Nassau (the emblem of the Netherlands) facing inwards and flanked round the rim by grape vines. Legend: “10 OKTOBER / 1925 (across)” and below: “EEUFEES”.

Notes: The makers name which appears on both sides of larger medal (Laidlaw 0189a) is not present.

J.C. Wienecke was the engraver of other medals having similar designs depicting the elderly Paul Kruger (the Volksstem Funeral medal, Laidlaw 0011 and the Nil Desperandum medal, Laidlaw 0057.
