Within a beaded border round the rim, bareheaded bust of Kruger, left (similar to Z.A.R. coinage). Legend: "PAUL (left) KRÜGER (right)”.

Blank save for two concentric circles and a stop at the foot.

These medals were probably made in Germany for sale in the Z.A.R where a stick pin would have been soldered to the back. The inner circle and the stop at the foot would have been used to get the correct alignment.
The inner circle is not visible on either example (scoured off or covered with solder).
A variety exists with minor charges, most notably KRÜGER has been replace with KRUGER without the umlaut.
