Obverse: Within a beaded border round the rim, bareheaded bust of Kruger, left (as on Z.A.R. coinage). Signed: "LAUER" on the truncation. Legend: "S.J. PAUL (left) KRÜGER (right)"

Reverse: Within a beaded border round the rim, oak wreath tied at the bottom..

Notes: Made in Germany for issue in the Z.A. Republic. Similar to Laidlaw 615a, 615c and 615d. Most of these medals have solder marks on the reverse for a pin, now removed.

Hern, following AM, believes that these medals were made during the Boer War.
