Within a beaded border round the rim, bareheaded bust of Kruger, left (similar to Z.A.R coinage). Legend: "PAUL (left) KRUGER (right)".

Reverse:

Within a beaded border round the rim, oak wreath tied at the bottom. Stop between the tips of the wreath and in the middle.

These medals were probably made in Germany for sale in the Z.A.R. Usually found with solder marks on the back presumably for a stick-pin that would have been attached in the Z.A.R. The stops on the reverse were probably guide marks for the correct orientation of the pin.
