Obverse: Three named, oval, framed, cameo busts decorated with sprigs of laurel in the background. Top: Lord Roberts, on ribbon below: “LD. ROBERTS”. Left: General Buller, on ribbon below: “GN. BULLER”. Right: Colonel Baden Powell, on a ribbon below: “CL. POWELL”. At the foot on a scroll: “TO / COMMEMORATE / BRITISH / VALOUR”.

Reverse: Within a laurel wreath tied at the bottom, on a ribbon across: “TRANSVAAL”. Above the ribbon, crossed flag standards, surmounted by a radiant crown. Below the ribbon, an ornament and then: “1899 1900”.
