Obverse: Bareheaded bust of Roberts in uniform, half left. Above, along edge: "LORD (left) ROBERTS (right)". Below: "OCCUPATION / OF / PRETORIA (in an arc)". Signed in the angle at the bottom: "VAUGHTON (left) BIRM: (right)".

Reverse: Within an upright oval frame, three coats of arms with: "BURGH OF STIRLING" above in an arc. Above, along edge: "CHILDREN'S (left) CELEBRATION (right)". Below: "5TH. JUNE / 1900". Signed in the angle at the bottom: "VAUGH (left) BIRM".

Notes: Stirling is the county town of Stirlingshire in central Scotland. Stirling Castle is the headquarters of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. The regiment was garrisoned there during the Boer War.

The top coat of arms is the ancient coat of arms of Stirling granted in 1624. The other two are unidentified.
