Edge: Plian.

Obverse: Conjoined bareheaded busts of the King and Queen, right, he in uniform, crown above. To the left, reading upwards: “H.M. KING EDWARD VII” and to the right, reading downwards: “H.M. QUEEN ALEXANDRA”.

Reverse: The coat of arms of Cape Town, crested by helmet, crenelations and anchor crossed with trident, and motto on ribbon below: “SPES . BONA”. Below, across: “CAPETOWN / CORPORATION / SHIELD. 1902 / WON BY / (space for recipient's name)". Diagonally, on the left reading upwards: “PHYSICAL”, and on the right reading downwards: “TRAINING”. On a cut-out ribbon at the top: “MISSION (left) SCHOOL (right)”. Stamped with the marker’s mark: “T.O.” and the Birmingham silver hallmark for 1902-3 (c).

Notes: Nothing is known about the Cape Town Corporation Mission School.
