Obverse: In a central circular medallion, veiled and diademed head of Queen Victoria, left. Below: "RD. 63159". Around, on a raised pebbled band, symbols of Great Britain and the colonies. From the top clockwise: Oak leaf flanked by acorns (England), beaver on a flag (Canada), shamrock (Ireland), Elephant on shield (India), thistle (Scotland) and kangaroo on flag (Australia). Legend on a wavy ribbon above: "BORN 1819 CROWNED 1837 MARRIED 1840 JUBILEE 1887" and below: "CAPE COLONIE (sp) WEST INDIES".

Reverse: Sea with radiant sun on horizon. Above in an arc: "GOD SAVE THE QUEEN" and below: "RD. NO. 63159". Legend: "GOD BLESS OUR QUEEN AND EMPIRE" sprigs of oak below.
