Obverse: Crowned and robed bust of the King, left. Signed: "H B SALE LTD" on truncation. Legend: "EDWARD.VIII.CROWNED . . MAY.12.1937".

Reverse: Five figures, standing in a circle, holding hands and facing outwards around a crowned globe showing the continents of Africa, Europe and America. In the front, Britannia labelled: "GREAT BRITAIN". The other figures labeled: "INDIA (lower left), AFRICA (upper left), AUSTRALIA (upper right) and CANADA (lower right)". Legend: "UNITED BRITISH EMPIRE". Signed: "SALE.BHAM" right rim.
