Form: Circular with attached knob for a ring to a ribbon with a brooch bar at the top. Ribbon is crimson with two narrow white bands along the edge, and two narrow blue bands in the centre.

Obverse: Crowned and robed bust of the Queen , Right.

Reverse: Crowned: "EIIR" monogram. Legend: "QUEEN ELIZABETH.II.CROWNED 2ND JUNE 1953".

Notes: Official Royal Mint issue for presentation to dignitaries throughout the Commonwealth. Comes in a oblong red cardboard box with: "(crowned EIIR monogram) 1953 / CORONATION MEDAL (in an arc)" in black on the outside of the lid.

Medals for ladies were made with a bow-ribbon and came in a larger box.
