Obverse: Protea flower above a view of Table Mountain. Legend: KIRSTENBOSCH". In the exergue: "1913-1963".

Reverse: A wreath of laurel (left) and oak (right) tied at the bottom surrounding a blank area for engraving. Stamped: ".925" and: "SILVER" at the bottom.

Notes: The Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden lies at the foot of Table Mountain in Cape Town. It was founded in 1913 on land donated to the Nation by Cecil Rhodes to preserve the country's unique flora. Henry Harold Welch Pearson (1870-1916) had campaigned for the establishment of the garden and was its first director.
