Obverse: In Art Nouveau style, an indented circular cameo of Alexandra, bareheaded left, with: "Alexandra" lower right. Incuse legend: "THE PRINCESS (left) OF PITY (right)". Outside flan decorated with bows and floral sprays. Signed: "FUCHS" diagonally in lower right corner.

Reverse: In Art Nouveau style, indented circular cameo of three standing figures in landscape, radiant cross above central figure. Faintly about: “SPES”, “FIDES" and “CARITATEM”. Outside flan decorated with bows and floral sprays, below across incuse: "Faith Hope Charity". Signed: "FUCHS" diagonally in lower right corner.

Notes: Princess Alexandra, as head of the Red Cross Society, equipped hospitals and hospital ships at the outset of the Boer War. Newspapers dubbed her, 'The Princess of Pity'.
