Head of monarch facing alternatively left or right, starting with Charles II facing left and ending with Elizabeth II facing right. Signed: "TW" below the truncation". Legend divided by the head, name of monarch, dates of reign. The order alternating, the monarch always facing his or her name.

The set was produced to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the accession of Queen Elizabeth II.
Comes inside a red leather-like fitted case, lined in the inside with white silk-like and red velvet-like material. On the outside of the lid in gilt: "(coat of arms of the SA Historical Mint) / SOUTH AFRICAN / HISTORICAL MINT". There is a numbered certificate (this set 78) dated 4 January 1982 from the South African Historical Mint stating that 1,000 sets were issued. There is also a descriptive pamphlet.
