Obverse: On the left laurel branch. On the right Angle, right arm raised holding olive(?) branch, left hand lowered holding wreath. On an ornate scroll in the middle: "PEACE / 11.NOV / 1918". Signed: "M&W" at the foot.

Reverse: Legend above: "TO COMMEMORATE". Across within four stars (southern cross?): "THE / GREAT WAR / 1914-18". Legend below between stops: "CORNELIA & VILJOENSDRIFT"

Notes: Cornelia Colliery is located at Viljoensdrift on the Orange Free State side of the Vaal River 8 km south of Vereeniging. Coal was transported across the river to the Transvaal.
