This medal came in a group of four medals awarded to J.L. Tadman who served with the St. Johns Ambulance Brigade (Great Eastern Railways Division) during the Boer War. His other medals were: QSA medal (Cape Colony clasp), St Johns Ambulance Brigade medal and the 1909 Royal Norfolk Veterans Medal.
