Obverse: Emblem of the Natal Numismatic Society society taken from the Natal coat of arms, a pair of wildebeests galloping to the left on a grassy plain with mountains behind. Signed: “W.M.” bottom left. Legend on a raised band above: “THE NATAL NUMISMATIC SOCIETY” and below between stops: “DIE NATALSE NUMISMATIESE VERENIGING”.

Reverse: Within a wreath with a Protea flower at its base: “THIRD / S.A. NUMISMATIC / CONVENTION / DURBAN”. Signed below the wreath on either side of the Protea’s stem: “W M”. Legend above: “DERDE S.A. NUMISMATIESE KONVENSIE” and below between stops: “11-15 JUL. 1967”. The gold medal is stamped: "18CT" at the foot. The silver medal is stamped: “.925 SILVER” on either side of the Protea.

Notes: Gold medal comes in a blue fitted case lined with white silk and blue velvet. The other two come in a silver-coloured cardboard box.
