The origin of this medal is unknown, but it was probably made in South Africa. The workmanship is poor, and the engraver has made the elementary error of inverting all the letters “N”.
It has been suggested that the decoration dash-dot-dash, which is the letter “K” in Morse code, was used to signify Kruger.
