Reference: Paul Withers, ‘Kruger Pond Imitations’, Galata Print Ltd., 2002, No. 17 who records them as imitation Ponde.
There are two varieties with or without: "H.U & CO." stamped on the back. There are other differences including a possible reworking of the obverse die.
Found either in a brooch, as they were originally made, or individually with signs that they have once been part of a brooch.
