Obverse: Conjoined busts of the Duke and Duchess, left. Signed: "AM" on the truncation. Legend on a scroll: “THEIR R.H. THE DUKE AND DUCHESS OF CORNWALL AND YORK”.

Reverse: Coat of arms of the Cape Colony with supporters, Hope crest and motto: "SPES BONA". Above in three concentric arcs: “THE CHILDRENS’ CELEBRATION OF THE VISIT / OF THEIR R.H. THE DUKE AND DUCHESS OF CORNWALL AND YORK / TO THE CAPE, 1901” and below: “KALK BAY / MUIZENBERG (in an arc)”.

Notes: The visit to South Africa was part of a world tour of British Colonies to show Royal appreciation for their support during the Boer War.

The Duke and Duchess were to become King George V and Queen Mary in 1911.
