On grassy ground, two horsemen rear towards each other, British on left, Boer on right. Above is the reverse side of a ZAR Pond. Signed: "AL Sutherland" on ground. Below ground: “ANGLO-BOER / WAR / South Africa”. Below that on a narrow ornate cartouche: “1899 – 1902”. Near the lower left rim: “Ag 999”.

The medals are protected within transparent hard-plastic capsules and come inside in a black SA Mint Case with a certificate of authenticity which states that the maximum mintage was 300. This set in numbered 292 on the certificate.
