Obverse: Within a raised laurel wreath tied at the bottom, dove flying right, sea with radiant sun on horizon below. In an arc above: “PEACE”.

Reverse: Across: “VERULAM – NATAL (in an arc) / (semicircular ornament) / SOUTH AFRICA / (line) / PEACE / CELEBRATIONS / 1919 / THE GREAT WAR (in an arc)”.

Notes: Verulam (population 63,000) is a town 27 kilometers north of Durban inhabited mainly by people of Indian descent.
