Edge:

Obverse: On a concave field, a high-relief rendition of the Cullinan Diamond on which is superimposed miniatures of four gold coins that circulated in South Africa:
Top: Netherlands Ducat 1809 (trade coinage) - Reverse
Left: ZAR President Burgers Pond 1874 - Obverse
Right: ZAR President Kruger Pond 1892-1900 - Obverse
Bottom: ZAR Veldpond 1902 - Obverse

Reverse: The coat of arms of the Z.A.R. Around above: “ZUID AFRIKAANSCHE REPUBLIEK”, and below between stops: “1892 – 1992”.

Notes: Both medals issued in a white case lined with white silk and red velvet.

The obverse shows the emblem of the Transvaal Numismatic Society and appears on other earlier medals the Society. The designer’s initials: “T.S.” have been removed from this medal.

The first issue of the Paul Kruger ZAR coinage was struck in 1892.
