Within a beaded border round the rim, two Boer soldiers fighting in mountainous terrain. The first, having been shot, falling down, right hand still clutches his rifle, hat knocked off. The second Boer soldier, lying down firing his rifle. The maker’s monogram “B” is to the left just above the exergue line. Legend above: “BURENKRIEG”. In the exergue: “1899-1900”.

The arms of the Z.A. Republic within a circle on a circular cartouche. Within a beaded border round the rim, legend above: “SÜD AFRIKANISCHE REPUBLIK” and below the maker’s monogram: “B” between three stars on each side.
