Crowned bust of Edward VII, left, within a central beaded oval on a cartouche with a crown above. The British flag on the left and the British Ensign on the right. Behind, a laurel wreath. At the foot in an arc: “SOUTH . AFRICA . 1902” (Note: 1902 is over 1900). The maker’s name: “WILCOX” close to the lower left rim.

On the left, a shield with three pears, part of the coat of arms of the city of Worcester within which Acocks Green was located at the time, decorated with sprigs of laurel and oak and a ribbon showing: “ACOCKS GREEN / 1902”. In a radiant arc above: “THE UNITED EMPIRE”. On the right, across: “GREAT BRITAIN / AND THE / COLONIES / HAIL WITH / GLADNESS / THE ADVENT / OF / PEACE”.
