Edge: Plain.

Obverse: Within a continuous laurel wreath, bareheaded bust of Lord Roberts in uniform, front. To the left of the bust, in two arcs: “LORD - / ROBERTS V.C.” and to the right, “COMMANDER - / IN CHIEF”.

Reverse: Flag pole flying British Union flag waving to right. At the top of the pole, small laurel wreath. Below, in large letters: “PRETORIA / 1900”, and below that, in an arc: “JUNE 6TH” dividing the maker’s name: “SALE. (left) BIRM. (right)”. Legend: “HOCKLEY HEATH TORCH LIGHT PROCESSION” with a cinquefoil at the foot.
