Obverse: Within a beaded border round the rim, the conjoined crowned and robed busts of the young-head and jubilee-head of Queen Victoria, left. On a band around: “REGINA . 1887 . VICTORIA . IMPERATRIX . 1887” with a sprig of laurel at the start. Signed: “A. Scarff” lower right close to the rim.

Reverse: Within a beaded border round the rim, Britannia on a chariot drawn by two lions. Justice and Genius on the left, Wisdom on the right. Legend: “. ANNUS . JUBILÆUS . 1887”. In the exergue, the arms of the City of London with dragon supporters and motto: “DOMINE DIREGE NOS”.
